CDC embarks on a new vision of learning for ePerolehan

Cyberjaya, 30 Nov - Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd (CDC) envisions the necessity to upgrade the knowledge and skills of its customers especially ePerolehan (eP) users by providing eLearning. With this groundbreaking paradigm shift, knowledge and information on eP will be made available at high speed access anytime anywhere.

eP, the Federal Government official electronic procurement system, was developed by (CDC) in 1999 as part of Malaysia Flagship application for eGovernment. Since its full implementation in 2002, eP has evolved into a stable and beneficial system with electronic procurement transacted via its modules such as Central Contract, Direct Purchase, Quotation and Tender. With more users coming n board each year, CDC has to ensure that they are well equipped with sufficient knowledge in using eP and its advantages.

On 2nd December 2005, CDC has successfully signed a contract with CrimsonLogic Malaysia Sdn Bhd to deliver eP Online Learning (ePOL) solution for eP users. EPOL offers a well designed online training for both instructor-led type as well as for distant-learning users delivered through a web-browser technology that is available for all eP modules as a web-based courseware. It also provides embedded functionality for the training administrator to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate training schedules, classes and other requirements. At the back end, ePOL is also integrated with relevant applications such as Financial and CRM.

According to Datuk Azizan bin Ayob, Executive Director of CDC. "CDC took the initiative as a challenge to traditional practices while improving business operation in delivering training for eP. ePOL enables CDC to transcend distance and knowledge gap through a virtual training environment. ePOL brings learning of eP to our Government users and their suppliers by providing the subject matter, procurement methodologies and other relevant information via an interactive media".

The benefits offered by ePOL includes:

  • Addressing various learning styles required by the users which may not always be centered around the instructor.
  • Maintaining and enhancing skills and knowledge on eP for CDC's customers and its own staff in a continuous manner.
  • Providing compliance training, base on a regulated training program with timely training and packages that suits the demand in terms of completeness, consistency and accuracy of content.
  • Facilitates measurement of ROI and reduces overhead costs.

With ePOL, CDC will be able to continually educate users and others to become mature and stay competitive. CDC at the same time has proven its capability in delivering a powerful tool for an effective training system while exploring into a new era of IT.
