EPerolehan's Quotation And Tender Modules Go "Live"

Bernama - 28 May 2003

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- ePerolehan-enabled government suppliers are now able to submit quotations, obtain tender documents and submit tender bids electronically with ePerolehan's Quotation & Tender (Q&T;) procurement modules having gone "live" Tuesday.

The launch of the modules is currently limited to 14 government procurement agencies known as "pusat Tanggungjawab" (PTJ) identified by the government as pilot agencies for the ePerolehan system.

ePeolehan said in a statement Wednesday that the pilot PTJs include agencies from the Finance Ministry, the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) and the Education Ministry.

The nationwide roll-out of the Q&T; module to the remaining 4,000 PTJs is targetted to commence in the third quarter this year.

The launch of the Q&T; modules completes the final implementation phase of ePerolehan, the nation's state-of-the-art procurement system.

Under this system suppliers are able to sell goods and services to the government via the Internet.

Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd Chief Executive, Datuk Mohd Salleh Masduki, said that the launch of the Q&T; means that ePerolehan is now fully equipped to support all models of government procurement.

"Through Q&T;, PJTs and government suppliers are set to perform requests for Quotations and Tender Online, thereby increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the two modes of the government procurement," he said.

All Q&T; users are assured of a secure and trusted marketplace as only valid government purchasers and suppliers can carry out online Q&T; transactions.

ePerolehan is a leading e-Government Flagship Application project developed under the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) initiative and is developed, implemented and managed by Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Finance Ministry. -- BERNAMA
